The projector is the heart and soul of your
event. You need to provide a bright, crisp picture for your audience.
Whether you accomplish this through traditional 16mm and 35mm film
projectors or LCD or DLP projectors, you want the best presentation
you can afford. We started with 16mm projectors more than 10 years
ago. In recent years, we've switched to video projectors for many
reasons. The first was to have the ability to screen independent
film maker shorts before the movies. The introduction of DVD authoring
allows us to customize our pre-movie presentation with movie
trailers and our Policy
Trailer that communicates everything possible to our audience,
including sponsor logos, contests, announcements and general information
about the event.
Since we now deal only in digital projectors,
we won't be able to advise you on your film projection needs. For
best results, here are a few guidelines to follow when picking out
your projector.
Minimum requirements:
Brightness - 5000 ansi lumens
Contrast Ratio - 700:1
Resolution - XGA 1024 x 768
Component Cables - Use this connection for sharpest picture (separate
RGB inputs)
Lens - Make sure your lens can throw the distance to fill your screen
size.
Expect to invest at least $7500 for a projector
with these specifications.
Sanyo currently makes large-venue projectors with
multiple lamps. That way when one goes down, another kicks in to
save the show. If you can afford this feature, get it. Nothing's
worse than a blown lamp in the middle of a live show.
