HISTORY

I was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time. Meeting John Hegeman from Seattle started me in this outdoor cinema movement back in 1995. There were literally only a dozen of these outdoor movie open air cinemas scattered around the U.S. Quite a bit has changed since then and we've met a lot of great people along the way. I don't know what the official number is but, there must be several thousands of outdoor movie events screening around the country now. The Outdoor Cinema Network (OCN) was created quite basically to build the surfboard to ride the wave. From sharing ideas about operating a successful outdoor cinema to providing basic information to get started. We began by hosting the first outdoor cinema in Colorado in 1996.
